  1. 🧸 Toys ‘R’ Us Debuts Ad Using Sora, OpenAI’s Text-to-Video Tool

    Toys R Us is the first brand to use a new AI video tool called Sora to create a commercial about the company's founder and mascot Geoffrey. The ad has received mixed reviews, with some praising the use of AI and others finding the visuals unsettling. The ad was created using text descriptions and took many iterations to get right.   2. 🎬 YouTube Launches First "Shopping-Only Store" in Korea

    YouTube has launched a first-of-its-kind "shopping-only store" in Korea, allowing creators to sell directly on the platform. This move targets the booming live commerce market, which combines video content with shopping. Consumers can now purchase products directly on YouTube without needing to visit external sites.   3. 💸 Alibaba's luxury platform saw a surge in live-streaming
    Luxury brands are using live-streaming to reach Chinese consumers on Alibaba's Tmall platform. Live-streaming hours on Tmall Luxury Pavilion jumped 75% during the recent 6.18 shopping festival. Balenciaga's livestream fashion show on Tmall attracted over 2 million views and sold out special collaboration items. Tmall's loyalty programs drove over 60% of sales during 6.18. Learn more.
